This is about 8 hours into the painting. This is about the 2nd layer on the face and I'll end up doing a few more to smooth out the shading and make it softer. This is my favorite painting that I've worked on in awhile.
Here is the newest painting that I'm working on. It is of a girl playing violin. The reference picture (shown above) that I'm working off of is taken by Brian also known as Coltfan909. Please view his photos on flickr because he's letting me use an amazing photograph for reference and he's a really great photographer http://www.flickr.com/photos/coltfan909/
The painting is one of the biggest I've painted in a while the dimensions are 34 x 48 inches (photo below). I'm doing the painting for the Conservatory of the Ozarks in Chesterfield Village located in Springfield, MO. They teach piano, guitar, violin, and also have vocal lessons. They are showing artwork at the conservatory on December 18th so the painting has to be done with by then.
This is the finished pet portrait of Chloe the dachsund. Decided to go with a suede background and used the background technique that I've been using on my Alice in Wonderland painting. Very pleased with the turnout. If anyone is looking for a portrait of their pet check out my examples and prices @ http://www.whiterabbitart.net/paintings_petportraits.html
Everything is set up and ready to go for tomorrow night. I've been very busy and need sleep bad. Here is a couple pics of the Gillioz that I took the other day. The second one is my name on the artwork on display list. More pics coming soon. Stop by the Gillioz tomorrow night from 6 to 10 to view my artwork. I have 18 paintings on display.
Haven't posted anything in awhile been busy working on my Alice in Wonderland paintings. Stay tuned all month for pictures from the Gillioz and the First Friday Artwalk. I'll also be posting the newest Alice in Wonderland paintings throughout the month. The painting that is on the flyer (pic below) is one of my newest Alice paintings made for the cover of my Alice in Wonderland book I'm working on illustrating. Planning on doing about 25 paintings for the book and I have 7 finished so far.
